To spare you the same, I wrote this guide so you know where (and how) to look. It wasn’t until I went to one of the city’s largest supermarkets, El Corte Inglés, at the department store on Plaça de Catalunya, that I finally found a few sachets. I went to four, maybe five, different supermarkets. I always thought that finding yeast would be easy in a city the size of Barcelona, but I was wrong. Whether you’re here on vacation or you’ve just moved to live in the city, it won’t take you long to conclude that finding yeast can be quite a pickle. Then know that not every grocery store in Barcelona carries baker’s yeast.
